Hard disc crashed
Phew... after being down for nearly a whole week, we're now back online with a few bumps and bruises. Thankfully, it looks like we have lost NO DATA. It really hurts having been offline for so many days but we are very grateful that it wasn't any worse than this.
What has happened?
The hard disc on our main server has crashed last saturday morning which caused the site to go down indefinately.
Why do these things always happen on weekends???
We do not have any access to where our server stands on weekends *duh* Therefore the earliest moment we could react to what has happened was monday morning. We went straight to the server housing, took "Corky" our server under our arms and went straight back home again to fix it. The hard disc was totally damaged and needed replacing. Setting up the server again took another 3 whole days. Now where is the pizza delivery when you need one ;-)
Most unfortunate we were unable to publish any information about the crash on our website due to our domain registration service provider not updating our DNS records properly :-(
Please accept our sincere apologies for this 60mph crash into a brick wall; the airbags have deployed and we've got a few seatbelt cuts and a broken tooth or two but we'll survive and the SHOE Community is ready to take off again :o)
So fasten your seat belts, darlings, and let all your fellow SHOE friends know that we are back! :o)
